Worship

Worship takes place through the week at All Hallows, with Communion on Wednesdays and Evening Prayer on Sundays. The Sacrament is reserved.

Our routine of worship is built around the weekly Eucharist at 10:00am at All Hallows, with traditional hymns from Common Praise.  This service is well attended and is valued by the loyal congregation.

A small but regular congregation attends the twice monthly services at St Mary’s Tufton.

St James the Less, Litchfield is a thriving village church with its own house-for-duty Priest.

All services are sung and from the BCP. The first Sunday of the month is Holy Communion and on the third Sunday it is Matins – both services are at 10am. When there is a fifth Sunday we have Evensong at 6pm.

Visiting Us

Opening time - Our churches are usually open every day from 8am to 6pm. Please check ‘What’s On’ to see if there are any extra services on when you plan to visit.

Parking - There is a small parking bay outside All Hallows church. For weddings and funerals this is reserved for the official party. There are no parking restrictions on the road outside the church, but please be considerate. Please DO NOT park too close to the junction with Wells Lane, leave at least two car lengths free either side of the junction.

Prayer for the Tenth Sunday after Trinity

O God, you declare your almighty power most chiefly in showing mercy and pity: mercifully grant to us such a measure of your grace, that we, running the way of your commandments, may receive your gracious promises, and be made partakers of your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever Amen.

Join our Bell Ringers

Our band of Bell Ringers are keen to recruit some new members to help ring our peal of 10 bells.

Bell Ringing is –

  • A 400 year old tradition;

  • A team activity;

  • A great mental workout and

  • A service to the church

You don’t need any musical experience and all the maths you need is to be able to count.

Practices are on Monday evenings.  To see more about our bells go to https://youtu.be/x-OfFB97ASc . For more details call Jenny on 01256 895098.
