COMING UP AND OTHER NOTICES

Church Warden News - PCC held its first meeting of the year. Andrew Hobley is taking over from Geoff as PCC secretary. Chris Goodwin and Colette Court have been co-opted onto PCC for Safeguarding and Eco-Church respectively. We looked at the way PCC operates and are developing a way of working to give greater support to the huge number of activities we, as a Church, undertake. We will need willing volunteers to support us so please offer your help in whatever form and however limited to a Churchwarden. Other things such as the reordering and eco-church will be communicated in due course by the teams involved.

Cakes please! We have two dates coming up when donations of cakes would be much appreciated. They are as follows:

Sunday 9th June Pentecost Service - we are hosting this Deanery service and plan to serve tea and cake to our visitors from 3.30p.m. Cakes can be delivered at anytime on the day and placed on the table on the left as you enter the Church. The service will start at 5pm.

Saturday 15th June Parish Ramble - coffee and cake will be a available at All Hallows’ from 12noon until 12.30p.m. Please deliver cakes to the Church Room from 11.00 a.m. Any left will be transported to Litchfield for later in the day.

As ever your generosity and help is much appreciated. If you have any queries regarding the above or need to make alternative ‘drop off’ arrangements, please contact Beverly on . Thank you!

Young Church Builders/Ecochurch - Young Church Builders have begun to use the outdoor space for ecochurch related projects and will be doing some growing and planting reflecting the glory of Gods Creation! We are on the lookout for donations of pollinator-friendly plants (such as lavenders/borage/scabious) that could cope in pots outside, a couple of trowels/handforks and maybe even a small coldframe (we could patch it up if necessary). If you think you have something that would help encourage wildlife to our little patch. please email Ecochurch.allhallowswhitchurch@gmail.com or call Lettie on 07532 376 726.

Whitchurch United Benefice Rambling - Saturday 15 June Come and join us for 2 walks. 11am All Hallows to St Mary’s Tufton round trip. 12 midday Tea and cake at all Hallows, 12:30 All Hallows to St James the Less in Litchfield round trip. Please let Stephen Preece know if you are joining us for catering purposes. email: s.preece385@btinternet.com

Light Up the World - We have printed booklets (available in All Hallows at the back of the church) which can be used as a resource for Thy Kingdom Come time of prayer. Please take on and use it in your prayers. (Thy Kingdom Come is a prayer initiative led by the Church of England. It will be held between Ascension and Pentecost, which is Thursday 30th May to Sunday 9th June 2019.)

YOUNG CHURCH BUILDERS

What you’d probably know as Sunday School we call Young Church Builders. We meet most* Sunday mornings from 10am (i.e. before the service starts) in the Church Rooms attached to All Hallows.

At Young Church Builders we take children from 3 to 11 years and aim to provide music, singing, Bible stories and fun activities appropriate to their age.

If you would like to join us on a Sunday morning, please pop in and see what we get up to. We are always happy to have new children in Young Church Builders .

Over the summer holidays there is no Young Church Builders .  Please help yourself to an activity bag (located in the carpeted area near the font) which should keep younger children occupied should their attention wander! Children are also welcome to use the Church Room (under your supervision) during the service. Please speak to our sidespeople if you want to know where things are.

BABIES AND TODDLERS

Children are very welcome at our Service, whether they stay with you in the pew, stretch their legs in the carpeted area by the font or join YCB in the Church Rooms, where they may play with the toys (under the supervision of their carers) and are welcome to join in with Young Church Builders as and when they feel like it.

Toddlers are also welcome to play quietly (again under supervision) in the carpeted font area during the Service, but please note that their voices will carry during the quieter parts of the Service.

The activity bags (located in the carpeted area) should keep your children occupied if they aren’t in Young Church Builders .
